Welcome to the Northpointe Band!

In anticipation of Tomball ISD ending service with its current web provider in fall of 2022, we have changed our homepage. You can find the NEW Willow Wood and Northpointe Bands website HERE.
We are no longer updating the information on this site, but you'll find plenty of info regarding band happenings on the new one!
The Willow Wood Band program consists of over 300 members in grades 6-8. Band members begin in the 6th grade on our feeder campus Northpointe Intermediate. Beginners are placed in like-instrument classes that meet as part of their regular schedule during the school day.
There are four 7th and 8th grade performing bands at Willow Wood JHS (Honor Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and Cadet IV Band). One of the largest student organizations in Tomball ISD, the Willow Wood Band has established a tradition of excellence in performance. Ensembles consistently earn Superior ratings in concert and sightreading in UIL contests, and bands have been named Best in Class in a number of festivals. The Honor Band was recognized as a National Winner, the highest award, in the 2019 Mark of Excellence competition, sponsored by the Foundation for Music Education.
The band staff includes Director of Bands Jim Shaw, currently in his 15th year at Willow Wood, and Assistant Band Directors Debra Vandergriff and Makaela Pierce. Dawn Melton is the lead band director for our 6th grade band program at NIS. Willow Wood JHS is a feeder for the award-winning band program at Tomball Memorial High School (Andy Easton, Director of Bands).
