I graduated from Principia College in Illinois with a degree in Mass Communication and a minor in Math. I decided that I loved kids so much I would go back to school to become a teacher. I joined the post-bach program at Sam Houston State University. There I recieved my Masters in Education and my teaching certification. I spent three years as a paraprofessional helping Special education students in Tomball Isd. I then spent one year teaching 3rd grade Math in Brenham, TX. I came back to Tomball as a Special Education Teacher for 5th and 6th grade Math.  Now instead of going into others classrooms to help students in Math, I now have my own 5th grade classroom.

I enjoy helping students find their love of Math especially when they hate it. In working on my Masters I have come across Flipped Classroom concepts. I will post some videos but also have access to my Sophia.org page to access videos. Twitter: @Langemath30

I love to use technology as much as I can in the classroom.  We will be using Google Classroom for many of our assignments as well as access to the Flipped videos for the class.  If you student does not have interment access at home please let me know so we can workout an arrangement.

Test Thursday!

Reminder there is a Test this Thursday over Adding, Subtracting, and Multiplying decimals.

Make sure you are checking the Academic Calendar for up coming Homework and Tests.  There is always a review posted and due the day before the test.  If your student has the review completed before coming into class the day before the test they will receive 5 extra points on their test.  This will appear as a separate column in the grade book as a major grade.  Students will either have a 5 or a 0.

Keeping up with classwork

We all have planners and calendars that help us through life.  The students are learning to use a paper planner and are reminded to write their homework down for the week.  If you students forgot their planner at school, no worries.  I try to keep the class academic calendar updated with homework as well as when unit tests are.

I look forward to meeting everyone at Parent orientation on September 10th and showing everyone the fun we will have in class.

WELCOME!!!

Welcome to Ms. Lange's Math class this year! I am so excited to have everyone.  Parent meet the teacher night will be Tuesday, September 10th from 6 to 8 pm.  My class has lots of technology blended into it.  If you allow your students to bring their personal devices to school they will be using it for educational purposes in my class.  I use Google Classroom to help keep things organized for class.  I love it because the students have access to everything we work on though out the year.

I look forward to getting to know each and everyone of my students.  Here is to an AMAZING year!!!! I cant wait!!!!
