My name is Julie Singletary, and I teach 5th grade Language Arts. I'm proud to say that I've been with TISD since 1991, and this will be my 10th year at Northpointe Intermediate School. I grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and attended Harding Christian University in Arkansas. I graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown. But, lucky for me, I'm an Aggie by marriage. My husband and youngest daughter both graduated from Texas A & M and are loyal Texas Aggies! I have a wonderful husband, three children, and 6 adorable grandchildren, Addie, Emma, Brennan, Jaxen, Greenly, and Bo.  I absolutely love teaching. In fact, I come from a family full of teachers!! My two daughters are teachers as well as a sister, two cousins, and four nieces. I'm an avid reader, and my favorite genre is historical fiction. When I'm not wrapped up in a good book - you can find me in my yard working in the flower beds and the vegetable garden. I'm a bit of a tree-hugger! I'm also crazy about animals and animal welfare. My classroom is built around mutual respect and kindness for others. I'm a strong believer in the importance of teaching young people the value of building a character of honor and integrity. As we build a sense of family and community - we enjoy learning and experiencing new things together. I want my students to know they have the power to make the world a better place. I also hope to show my students how to experience books in a way that will instill a life-long love of reading. 281-357-3020, ext. 1526

Veterans Day

Dear Parents and Guardians,

5th grade Language Arts (LA) classes will honor veterans on Monday, November 12th.  This is very special time for all of our staff and students involved.  Each LA block will meet in the library with a group of veterans invited by students in that particular block. Veterans may include parents, relatives, and/or friends.  We would love to have as many veterans as possible to join us on the 12th.  If you are a veteran, please accept our special invitation to you.  The schedule is as follows:

Block 1 – 8:15 – 9:00

Block 2 – 12:30 – 1:15

Block 3 – 1:45 – 2:30

Veterans will attend the particular block session their child will attend.  Please consider this opportunity for students to learn the importance of honoring the men and women who have served and currently serve our country.  Please RSVP to Julie Singletary at or 281-357-3020, ext. 1526.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
