My name is Julie Singletary, and I teach 5th grade Language Arts. I'm proud to say that I've been with TISD since 1991, and this will be my 10th year at Northpointe Intermediate School. I grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and attended Harding Christian University in Arkansas. I graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown. I absolutely love teaching. In fact, I come from a family full of teachers!! My two daughters are teachers as well as a sister, two cousins, and four nieces. I'm an avid reader, and my favorite genre is historical fiction. When I'm not wrapped up in a good book - you can find me in my yard working in the flower beds and the vegetable garden. I'm a bit of a tree-hugger! I'm also crazy about animals and animal welfare. My classroom is built around mutual respect and kindness for others. I'm a strong believer in the importance of teaching young people the value of building a character of honor and integrity. As we build a sense of family and community - we enjoy learning and experiencing new things together. I want my students to know they have the power to make the world a better place. I also hope to show my students how to experience books in a way that will instill a life-long love of reading. 281-357-3020, ext. 1526 juliesingletary@tomballisd.net
