My name is Lisa Alter. This is my sixth year at NIS in Tomball ISD and I absolutely love it here! I have taught for 16 years, eleven of those in middle school Math: two in Fort Bend ISD, two in Colorado Springs, CO, and seven in Humble ISD at an MYP/IB campus. I graduated from the University of Houston - Clear Lake with a BA in Communication. Prior to teaching, I worked in the oil & gas industry and lived in the Caribbean where I worked as an underwater photographer. I found I was always teaching others, so I decided to go back to school for my teaching certificate. I am truly blessed that I have found my calling in life!
I have been married to my wonderful husband for nineteen years and we have a 14-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son. We moved to Tomball a several years ago and we love it here! If we are not watching our son play soccer or daughter performing in band, we spend time together as a family.
I have high expectations for my students. I want my students to be respectful, come to class prepared, take ownership of heir learning and do their BEST!
NOTHING LESS THAN YOUR HIGHEST AND BEST!
